노벨 문학상 심사절차

노벨상 홈페이지에 노벨 문학상 심사절차에 대한 설명이 있군요.

심사기관은 "the Swedish Academy"인데, 18명의 위원으로 구성되어 있고(명단 나와 있음), 그 안에서 4~5명으로 구성되는 "the Nobel Committee for Literature"(명단 나와 있음)가 후보추천 요청 초청장 발송, 초기 후보군 압축 등의 작업을 한다고 합니다.

​The Swedish Academy is responsible for the selection of the Nobel Prize laureates in literature, and has 18 members. The Nobel Committee for Literature is the working body that evaluates the nominations and presents its recommendations to the Swedish Academy, and comprises four to five members.​

일정

9월 (Invitation letters are sent out​) - 'Nobel Committee for Literature' (노벨문학상 심사기구인 "the Swedish Academy"의 18명 위원 중에서 구성)에서 (세계 각지의 주요 인사(학계, 단체, ...)들에게) 후보 추천 요청서 발송

다음 해 2월 (Deadline for submission) - 후보 추천 접수 마감. 추천서는 1월 31일까지 도착해야 하고, Committee가 스크린하여 명단을 Academy에 보고.

4월 (Preliminary candidates​) - 'Nobel Committee for Literature'에서 초기 후보군을 15~20명으로 압축 

5월 (Final candidates​) - Committee에서 최종 후보군 5명으로 압축. 

6월~8월 (Reading of productions) - Swedish Academy 위원들(18명)이 후보들의 작품을 읽음. Novel Committee도 개별 보고서 작성. (The members of the Academy read and assess the work of the final candidates during the summer. The Nobel Committee also prepares individual reports.)

9월 (Academy members confer) - Academy 위원들의 토론(Having read the work of the final candidates, members of the Academy discuss the merits of the different candidates’ contribution.).

10월 (Nobel Prize laureates are chosen) - Academy 에서 10월 초에 (투표로) 수상자 결정. (선정되는) 후보는 투표자 과반의 찬성이 있어야 함(A candidate must receive more than half of the votes cast.)

12월 Nobel Prize laureates receive their prize) - 수상식 개최
